Lori Loughlin Returns to Instagram After 7 Years With Full House Cast
Lori Loughlin has officially returned to Instagram after a seven-year absence, and she marked the occasion with a nostalgic Full House reunion.
The actress announced her social media comeback on August 31 with a video featuring several of her former co-stars. John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Scott Weinger, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier all took part in the playful tribute.
Loughlin captioned the post, “Wake up, San Francisco! I’m back on IG.”
Lori Loughlin makes her Instagram comeback
Loughlin’s return was built around one of the most recognisable elements of her Full House character.
In the video, members of the show’s cast appeared holding cups of coffee while delivering the familiar “Wake Up, San Francisco” line associated with the fictional morning programme from the sitcom.
Loughlin then appeared in the video herself, reprising her character Rebecca Donaldson, better known to fans as Aunt Becky.
She used another piece of dialogue from the series to jokingly welcome herself back to the platform.
The approach gave the Instagram return a clear Full House connection while also acknowledging how much time had passed since Loughlin was last active on the platform.

The reunion brought together several familiar faces from the original sitcom.
John Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis, appeared alongside Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Scott Weinger, Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier.
The video also included archival footage of the late Bob Saget, who played Danny Tanner.
Saget’s appearance gives the clip an especially nostalgic quality. He died in January 2022 at age 65, meaning the footage serves as a tribute to one of the central members of the original cast.
Loughlin and Saget’s characters also had a connection through the fictional morning show, making the archival moment particularly fitting for her Instagram comeback.
Why Lori Loughlin left Instagram in 2019
Loughlin deleted her social media accounts in March 2019, shortly after the college admissions scandal became public.
She and her then-husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, were charged in connection with a scheme involving the fraudulent admission of their daughters to the University of Southern California as purported athletic recruits.
The couple later pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Loughlin was sentenced in August 2020 to two months in prison, two years of supervised release, 100 hours of community service and a $150,000 fine. Giannulli received a five-month prison sentence, along with his own supervised release, community service and fine.
Loughlin completed her prison sentence in December 2020.
Her return to Instagram therefore represents a significant change from the period when she largely stepped away from social media and the public spotlight.
Loughlin has gradually returned to the spotlight
The Instagram comeback is not Loughlin’s first step back into public life.
After completing her sentence, she resumed acting and appeared in projects including When Hope Calls, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Blue Bloods and other television productions.
She has also continued reconnecting with members of her Full House family.
That relationship has remained important to Loughlin’s public story, particularly as several original cast members have continued to support one another over the years.
Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli separated in 2025
Loughlin’s personal life has also changed since she first disappeared from Instagram.
In October 2025, Loughlin’s representative confirmed that she and Giannulli had separated after nearly 28 years of marriage. The representative said the couple were living apart and taking a break from their marriage, while noting that there were no legal proceedings underway at that time.
The couple share two daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli.
A nostalgic return for Full House fans
Rather than simply posting a new photograph, Loughlin chose to reconnect with Instagram through the character that made her widely recognisable to television audiences.
Her aunt Becky’s return also taps into the enduring popularity of Full House, which originally ran from 1987 to 1995 and later received the Netflix sequel series Fuller House. Loughlin reprised Rebecca Donaldson in the revival.
The inclusion of Saget’s archival appearance adds another layer to the reunion. For long-time viewers, the clip brings together both the surviving members of the cast and a reminder of the show’s late star.
For Loughlin, meanwhile, the message is straightforward: after seven years away, Aunt Becky is back on Instagram.
