Justin Timberlake made an unexpected return to live performance on Aug. 22, joining Don Toliver during the rapper’s concert at Miami’s Kaseya Center.
The Justin Timberlake Miami concert appearance marked his first major stage performance in nearly seven months. Timberlake joined Toliver during the Octane World Tour stop and performed his 2002 hit “Rock Your Body”.
The Miami show was officially scheduled as part of Don Toliver’s Nitrous – Octane World Tour Leg 2. The Kaseya Center confirmed the Aug. 22 date ahead of the performance.
Justin Timberlake Was Watching From the Crowd
The surprise appearance was especially unexpected because Timberlake initially attended the concert as a spectator.
According to footage shared by the singer, he was watching Toliver’s performance from the VIP area before eventually making his way onto the stage. Timberlake later shared the behind-the-scenes moment on Instagram, explaining that he had simply intended to watch the show.
The crowd then got a major surprise when Toliver performed “Rock Your Body” and Timberlake appeared to join him.
Setlist records for the Miami show also list “Rock Your Body” as part of the performance, followed by Toliver’s “Body”, with Timberlake remaining onstage.
Timberlake Performs “Rock Your Body” With Don Toliver
Once Timberlake appeared, the two artists turned the moment into an impromptu collaboration.
Timberlake performed “Rock Your Body”, the Pharrell Williams- and Chad Hugo-produced hit from his 2002 album Justified. Toliver joined in on the energy while the audience sang along.
The connection between the two songs was more than coincidence. Toliver’s “Body” incorporates elements of Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body”, making Timberlake’s surprise appearance a natural fit for the Miami show.

At the Jan. 29 event, Timberlake delivered a surprise performance during a tribute to long-time collaborator Pharrell Williams. The Recording Academy confirmed his appearance as part of the evening’s tribute performances.
That means the Don Toliver show represented another notable live appearance for Timberlake in 2026.
However, the Miami performance should not automatically be viewed as the beginning of a new tour or a full-scale return to touring. Neither the surprise appearance nor the available reports establish that Timberlake has announced a new tour.
Timberlake Previously Opened Up About Lyme Disease
Timberlake’s return also comes after he publicly discussed his health struggles following the conclusion of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in July 2025.
At the end of that tour, the singer revealed that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. He said the condition had contributed to significant physical challenges, including nerve pain and fatigue, while he was performing.
CBS News reported that Timberlake made the disclosure in a July 31, 2025, Instagram post after completing the tour.
Pitchfork likewise reported that Timberlake finished the 15-month Forget Tomorrow World Tour on July 30, 2025, before discussing his diagnosis publicly.
Timberlake explained that the diagnosis helped him understand some of the physical difficulties he had experienced while performing. Despite those challenges, he chose to finish the tour.

For now, Timberlake’s Miami appearance is best viewed as a special guest performance rather than confirmation of a new touring era.
The singer arrived at the Don Toliver show as a fan, only to become part of the night’s headline-making moment. His appearance also created a fitting connection between one of his best-known songs and Toliver’s newer track that draws from it.
For fans, however, the message was simple: Justin Timberlake is still willing to step onto the stage when the right moment comes along.
