Combs discussed the decision during the August 25 episode of The House of Halliwell, the rewatch podcast she co-hosts with fellow Charmed actor Drew Fuller. Her comments offer a rare look at why she quietly moved away from regular screen work.
The actress has not had a major on-screen acting role in several years. Her last appearance in Grey’s Anatomy came in 2019, although some later podcast and special appearances have kept her connected to the entertainment world.

Combs gave more than one reason for her decision.
One important factor was the type of work being offered to her. She said the projects coming her way simply did not give her enough reason to return to set.
She also pointed to the smaller pool of roles available to women in their 40s and 50s. Although Combs said Hollywood’s ageism is not as severe as it once was, she felt that the roles available to her had become less appealing.
