Hayden Panettiere Memorial: Connie Britton and Nashville Stars Gather in Malibu

Friends, family members and former co-stars gathered in Malibu on September 19 to remember actress Hayden Panettiere at a private celebration of life.

The Hayden Panettiere memorial brought together several familiar faces from her career, including her Nashville co-stars Connie Britton, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio. Ruby Rose, Evan Ross and other friends were also reported to have attended.

Panettiere died on August 16, 2026, at age 36. Her death remains under investigation, and officials have not publicly confirmed a final cause or manner of death.

Hayden Panettiere Remembered at Malibu Memorial

The private memorial was held at a church in Malibu, California, roughly one month after Panettiere’s death.

According to reports, approximately 150 people attended the gathering. Photos from the event showed several of Panettiere’s long-time friends and colleagues arriving to pay their respects.

The choice of Malibu also carried a personal connection. Reports said the seaside location was selected in part because of Panettiere’s love of the ocean and marine life.

The gathering was described by sources as an emotional celebration of the actress’s life and legacy.

Connie Britton and Nashville Co-Stars Attend

Among the most recognisable attendees was Connie Britton, who worked with Panettiere on Nashville.

Britton and Panettiere starred together in the popular musical drama, where Panettiere played Juliette Barnes. Their professional relationship became one of the most notable connections highlighted in tributes following Panettiere’s death.

Other Nashville cast members were also present.

Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio attended the memorial, while Lennon Stella was also reported among the guests. Esten reportedly took part in the ceremony with a musical tribute connected to the show.

Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio were also photographed together at the event as they remembered their former co-star.

Ruby Rose and Other Stars Pay Their Respects

Ruby Rose was another prominent guest at the celebration.

Rose had spoken publicly about her close friendship with Panettiere following the actress’s death. In a recent interview, Rose described Panettiere as her best friend and reflected on the close bond they developed over several years.

Evan Ross and Paris Hilton were also among the celebrities reported to have attended the Malibu gathering. Panettiere’s father, Alan “Skip” Panettiere, was present as well.

The memorial reportedly included a symbolic release of doves before guests went inside for the ceremony.

Hayden Panettiere’s Death Remains Under Investigation

Panettiere died on August 16 at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said first responders found her unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Emergency personnel attempted resuscitation, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy found no trauma that contributed to her death.

However, the official cause and manner of death remained pending while additional testing and toxicology work were being completed.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office reiterated in September that it had not yet released an official finding, despite reports from other outlets about possible circumstances surrounding her death.

That distinction is important because several unverified claims have circulated online. Until authorities issue their final findings, those reports should not be treated as an established cause of death.

A Career Remembered by Fans and Co-Stars

Panettiere began working as a child actress and built a career across television and film.

She became widely recognised for playing Claire Bennet on Heroes and later starred as Juliette Barnes on Nashville. Her film credits included Remember the Titans, Bring It On: All or Nothing, Ice Princess and Scream 4.

Her colleagues have continued to remember her for both her acting career and the personal relationships she formed throughout her years in entertainment.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists also acknowledged her death, noting her long career from childhood into adulthood.

Hayden Panettiere’s Legacy Lives On

The Malibu memorial offered Panettiere’s family, friends and colleagues an opportunity to remember her away from the headlines surrounding her death.

For many of those who worked with her, the gathering was also a reflection on a career that began when she was very young and included major television, film and voice-acting roles.

As the official investigation continues, her work in Heroes, Nashville and other projects remains an important part of the legacy she leaves behind.
