The women in Craig’s Bond era were not limited to traditional romantic roles. Some were spies, assassins, intelligence agents or characters with their own complicated connections to Bond.
Craig himself once questioned the continued use of the term “Bond girls”, reflecting the franchise’s changing approach to its female characters. That evolution is particularly visible across his five films.
So, where are the Daniel Craig Bond girls now? Here is a look at the actresses behind some of the most recognisable women in Craig’s 007 era.
Caterina Murino as Solange Dimitrios
Caterina Murino appeared in Casino Royale as Solange Dimitrios, one of the first women Bond encounters after Daniel Craig took over the role.
The Italian actress had already worked in European film and television before joining the 007 franchise. After Casino Royale, she continued building an international acting career and also took on presenting duties, including hosting the Venice Film Festival in 2023.
Murino has remained active in European entertainment while balancing her professional life with her family.
Her appearance in Casino Royale also helped establish the more grounded tone of Craig’s Bond era. The official 007 site lists Murino among the film’s cast alongside Craig, Eva Green and Mads Mikkelsen.
Eva Green as Vesper Lynd
Eva Green played Vesper Lynd, one of the most important women in Craig’s entire Bond storyline.
Vesper was more than a romantic interest. Her relationship with Bond became central to his emotional journey and had consequences that continued throughout later films.
After Casino Royale, Green developed an impressive film and television career. Her credits include Dark Shadows, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Dumbo and the television series Penny Dreadful.
Her connection with director Tim Burton has also continued over the years. Most recently, Green joined the cast of Netflix’s Wednesday Season 3 as Aunt Ophelia, the mysterious sister of Morticia Addams. Netflix confirmed that production on the third season began in 2026.
That role gives Green another major franchise character well beyond her Bond years.
Ivana Miličević as Valenka
Ivana Miličević had a smaller but memorable role in Casino Royale. She played Valenka, the girlfriend of villain Le Chiffre.
Although her part was much smaller than Eva Green’s, Miličević went on to maintain a steady presence on television.
Her later credits include The 100, Banshee and other television projects. She has also expanded her work beyond acting, including podcasting.
Miličević originally auditioned for the role of Vesper Lynd before Green was cast. Her eventual appearance as Valenka gave her a place in Craig’s first Bond adventure.
Olga Kurylenko as Camille Montes
Olga Kurylenko brought a different kind of Bond character to Quantum of Solace.
She played Camille Montes, an agent pursuing her own mission of revenge. Unlike many earlier Bond romances, Camille does not become a conventional romantic conquest for 007.
The official Bond site describes Camille as an agent with her own agenda who becomes involved in Bond’s investigation into the Quantum organisation.
Kurylenko continued working in action and science-fiction films after Bond. Her credits include The November Man, Vampire Academy, Black Widow and Thunderbolts*.
Her career therefore followed a natural path from the Bond franchise into other major action productions.
Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields
Gemma Arterton played Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace.
The role came early in Arterton’s career, but she later became known for a much broader range of film work. Her credits include Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Clash of the Titans and Byzantium.
Over the years, Arterton has also reflected critically on her Bond role. She has discussed how her views about the portrayal of women in the franchise changed as she became older.
Her career since Quantum of Solace demonstrates how quickly she moved beyond the label of being a Bond actress.
Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine
Bérénice Marlohe appeared as Sévérine in Skyfall, the third Daniel Craig Bond movie.
Her character has a complicated history and becomes connected to Javier Bardem’s villainous Raoul Silva. Marlohe said at the time that she wanted Sévérine to have both vulnerability and strength rather than fitting neatly into a simple “good” or “bad” category.
That approach matched the broader direction of Craig’s Bond films.
Following Skyfall, Marlohe appeared in projects including 5 to 7, Revolt and Kill Switch. The official 007 site lists her among the principal cast of Skyfall.
Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra
Monica Bellucci brought decades of international stardom to Spectre.
She played Lucia Sciarra, a widow whose connection to a dangerous criminal organisation brings Bond into her world.
Bellucci’s casting attracted particular attention because she was older than many actresses traditionally associated with the Bond role. Her appearance helped challenge expectations about what a Bond woman could look like and how such a character could be presented.
The actress continued her work in international cinema and television after Spectre. She also made her stage debut as Maria Callas in Letters and Memoirs.

Ana de Armas as Paloma
Ana de Armas joined Craig for his final Bond film, No Time to Die, as CIA agent Paloma.
Although Paloma has limited screen time, the character quickly became one of the film’s most talked-about additions. She brings energy and humour to the action-heavy sequence in Cuba.
De Armas was already gaining major attention before Bond. She had appeared with Craig in Knives Out, and her career continued to grow after No Time to Die.
She later starred in The Grey Man, Deep Water, Eden and Ballerina. She also received an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde.
The official 007 site confirms de Armas as part of the cast of No Time to Die, Craig’s fifth and final Bond film.
Léa Seydoux as Dr Madeleine Swann
Léa Seydoux played Dr Madeleine Swann in Spectre and returned for No Time to Die.
Madeleine is particularly significant because her relationship with Bond develops across two films. She is not simply introduced and forgotten after one adventure.
Her character becomes closely tied to Bond’s personal life, making Seydoux one of the most important actresses in Craig’s Bond storyline.
Outside the franchise, Seydoux has maintained a strong career in French and international cinema. Her later credits include Crimes of the Future and Dune: Part Two.
