Ariana Grande Reflects on a Different Touring Experience
Ariana Grande says her Eternal Sunshine Tour has felt very different from her previous concert tours. In a recent interview, the singer described the experience as a “beautiful corrective experience” and explained that she feels more present and connected with her audience this time.
Grande discussed the tour during an Aug. 17 appearance on Vosk in the City. She reflected on how her mindset has changed since her previous tour and how that difference has affected the way she performs.
The 33-year-old singer said she was not in the same place in life during her last tour. This time, she feels more able to see, connect with and appreciate the people who have followed her career for years.
Ariana Grande Says She Feels More Connected to Fans
For Grande, the emotional connection with her audience has become one of the most meaningful parts of the tour.
She recalled first experiencing that strong connection when she was young and building her career through television appearances and YouTube covers. According to Grande, the feeling of mutual affection from fans has remained remarkably consistent over the years.
She also spoke about being able to recognise fans during her shows and appreciate the personal details they bring to concerts.
That long history matters to Grande. Many of the people watching her perform have been following her music for more than a decade, creating a relationship that extends well beyond a single tour.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour Marks a Major Return to the Stage
The current tour is also significant because it marks Grande’s return to live touring after a lengthy break.
The O2 in London says the Eternal Sunshine Tour is Grande’s first return to the stage in six years following her Sweetener World Tour. The current run supports her album Eternal Sunshine and its deluxe follow-up, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead.
The North American leg concluded in Chicago on Aug. 6. Grande is now completing the London portion of the tour at The O2.
The London dates are scheduled through Sept. 1, with the final performance listed at The O2.
Grande Plans to Step Back From Public Visibility
Grande’s comments about the tour come shortly after her team confirmed that she plans to take a break from public-facing work once the tour ends.
Her representative previously said that Grande would “take a step back from visibility” after completing the tour. The decision comes amid continued public scrutiny surrounding the singer.
Grande has emphasized that the decision was not sudden. During a Chicago concert earlier in August, she told fans that she had been planning the move quietly for a long time. The Guardian also reported that she described the decision as neither reactive nor impulsive.
Her team has said she wants to finish the tour on a positive note before taking a break from public appearances.
Ariana Grande Calls the Tour Healing and Special
Despite the pressure surrounding her public life, Grande has made clear that her relationship with fans remains important to her.
During her Chicago appearance, she described the Eternal Sunshine Tour as one of the most meaningful and healing experiences of her life.
Her latest comments on Vosk in the City reinforce that message. Rather than focusing only on the demands of touring, Grande highlighted the opportunity to reconnect with an audience that has supported her through different stages of her career.
That perspective helps explain why she views the current tour as a corrective experience rather than simply another concert run.
What Comes Next for Ariana Grande?
Grande is expected to complete the remaining London dates before beginning her planned break from public-facing work.
The O2 currently lists performances on Aug. 19, 20, 23, 24, 27, 28, 31 and Sept. 1, in addition to the Aug. 15 and 16 shows.
Her decision to step away also affects her upcoming acting commitments. ABC News reported that Grande will no longer appear in the planned West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, where she had been expected to reunite with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
For now, Grande’s focus remains on completing the Eternal Sunshine Tour and spending the final stretch of the run with her fans.
