Allison Ellsworth Opens Up About Her Tummy Tuck After Motherhood and Major Weight Loss
Poppi co-founder Allison Ellsworth is opening up about her decision to undergo a tummy tuck after having three children and losing about 60 pounds.
The entrepreneur, 38, recently discussed the procedure with PEOPLE. She explained that the decision came after she realised she was finished having children and wanted to focus on how she felt about her body.
Ellsworth has also documented parts of her recovery on social media. Her posts have given followers a closer look at the realities of recovery, including swelling, discomfort and the emotional challenges that can follow cosmetic surgery.
Why Allison Ellsworth Decided to Have a Tummy Tuck
For Ellsworth, the decision was not made suddenly.
After the birth of her third son, she gave herself time to decide whether she wanted another child or would move forward with cosmetic surgery. Once her youngest son was out of nappies, she said she felt certain that she was finished having babies.
That helped her make the decision to explore a tummy tuck.
Ellsworth also said her body had changed significantly after pregnancy, breastfeeding and years of demanding work. She had previously lost around 60 pounds while using GLP-1 medication, which further influenced her decision to consider body-contouring surgery.
She had also undergone a breast reduction and lift about two years earlier, a procedure she said improved her quality of life.
Ellsworth Spent More Than a Year Considering Surgery
Rather than rushing into the procedure, Ellsworth said she spent more than a year thinking about it and researching potential surgeons.
She eventually chose New York plastic surgeon Dr Ryan Neinstein. His practice identifies him as a board-certified plastic surgeon whose work includes body sculpting and post-pregnancy procedures.
Ellsworth lives in Austin, Texas, so she travelled to New York for the procedure after having initial consultations remotely.
She ultimately underwent a tummy tuck along with what she described as a small BBL.
Her Poppi Success Came Before the surgery.
Ellsworth’s decision also came during a major transition in her professional life.
She and her husband, Stephen Ellsworth, founded the beverage company that became Poppi. The business began with homemade drinks and later gained attention through their appearance on Shark Tank.
In 2025, PepsiCo completed its acquisition of Poppi for $1.95 billion, including anticipated cash tax benefits. PepsiCo said the transaction had a net purchase price of $1.65 billion after those anticipated tax benefits, along with potential performance-based earnout consideration.
The deal marked a major milestone for the brand and its founders.
For Ellsworth, that success also meant she could make a personal decision she had been considering for some time.
Allison Ellsworth Has Shared the Reality of Recovery
Ellsworth has been unusually open about what happened after her surgery.
She shared parts of her recovery online, including images showing bruising and swelling. Instead of presenting only the finished result, she chose to show some of the less glamorous parts of healing.
That openness appears to have resonated with her audience.
Several months after surgery, Ellsworth said she was still dealing with swelling and was gradually moving away from wearing surgical garments. She also described the emotional side of recovery as difficult because the body can look and feel different while healing.
Recovery after cosmetic surgery does not necessarily produce immediate final results. Swelling and other changes can continue while the body heals, so patients are generally advised to follow their surgeon’s individual aftercare instructions.
The Emotional Side of a Tummy Tuck
Ellsworth’s story also highlights an aspect of cosmetic surgery that is sometimes overlooked: recovery can be mentally challenging.
She said there were moments when she questioned her decision because her body did not immediately look the way she expected.
Eventually, however, she began to feel more like herself again.
One milestone stood out to her. After she was able to stop relying on surgical garments, she went shopping for swimsuits and celebrated seeing her body in a new way.
Her experience has also led her to connect with other women who have undergone similar procedures. She said an online support community helped her understand that difficult days could be part of the recovery process.
Why Ellsworth Chose to Share Her Experience Publicly
Ellsworth has built much of her public profile around being open about entrepreneurship, motherhood and her personal life.
That transparency continued with her plastic surgery journey.
She first teased the decision in a TikTok video in April, telling followers she had decided to do something for herself. Since then, she has continued sharing updates rather than showing only the final outcome.
For Ellsworth, the response from her audience reinforced her decision to talk openly about the experience.
Her story is also part of a wider shift in how celebrities, influencers and entrepreneurs discuss cosmetic procedures online. Instead of keeping surgery private, some public figures are now sharing both the results and the realities of recovery.
What Allison Ellsworth’s Story Says About Post-Pregnancy Body Changes
Ellsworth’s experience is personal and should not be viewed as a recommendation for cosmetic surgery.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and significant weight changes can affect the body in different ways. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure, and anyone considering one should discuss the potential benefits, risks, recovery period and alternatives with a qualified medical professional.
Ellsworth’s story mainly offers a personal perspective on why one woman chose the procedure and how she experienced the recovery process.
For her, the decision followed years of motherhood, major weight loss and the realisation that she did not plan to have more children.
