Millie Bobby Brown’s Dog Winnie Bonds with Her Daughter

Millie Bobby Brown Says Winnie Has Become a Patient Companion to Her Daughter

Millie Bobby Brown is sharing a happier update about her family’s four-legged member.

The Stranger Things star recently opened up about Millie Bobby Brown’s dog Winnie and how the miniature poodle has adjusted to life alongside Brown’s daughter and husband, Jake Bongiovi.

In a new interview with Vogue, published August 18, Brown described the six-year-old dog as patient and said Winnie has done well around her toddler.

The update comes after the family’s first year of adjusting to parenthood. Brown and Bongiovi announced in August 2025 that they had welcomed a baby girl through adoption. At the time, the couple said they wanted to experience their new chapter “in peace and privacy” and did not publicly share their daughter’s name or other identifying details.

Winnie Has Taken on a New Role at Home

According to Brown, Winnie has settled into family life surprisingly well.

The actress told Vogue that the dog is “really patient” with her daughter and described her as doing a good job as a kind of big sister.

That marks a notable change from the early days after the baby arrived.

Brown previously discussed how Winnie initially struggled with the major change in the household. The actress explained that the dog appeared confused by the baby’s arrival and even seemed to compete for attention.

Now, however, Winnie appears to have found her place in the family.

The poodle lives with Brown, Bongiovi and their daughter on the couple’s Georgia farm. The household also includes several other dogs and farm animals.

Brown and Winnie Have Been Together for Years

Winnie has been part of Brown’s life since 2020.

Brown adopted the miniature poodle as a puppy shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown. Since then, Winnie has accompanied the actress through major parts of her career.

The dog has been around during Brown’s work on projects including Stranger Things, Enola Holmes and Damsel. Winnie has also appeared with Brown in promotional videos and made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

That long history helps explain why Winnie remains such an important part of Brown’s life even as her family has grown.

Winnie Has Also Supported Brown Through Anxiety

Brown’s relationship with Winnie goes beyond being a typical pet-owner bond.

During her Vogue interview, Brown explained that Winnie was trained in deep-pressure therapy. The dog can place her paws on Brown’s chest during moments of severe anxiety.

Brown credited Winnie with having a major positive impact on her life.

The actress has spoken publicly about her connection with animals before. Her interest eventually led her to establish Joey’s Friends, a dog rescue organisation, in 2022.

For Brown, therefore, Winnie is not simply another pet in a busy household. She has been a companion through both personal and professional milestones.

Life on the Georgia Farm Keeps Winnie Busy

Winnie also appears to enjoy the unusual environment of Brown and Bongiovi’s Georgia home.

The family’s property is home to multiple dogs and a range of farm animals. Brown said Winnie particularly enjoys being around the pigs.

The poodle reportedly has a habit of getting underneath the fencing and spending time near the pigs, including playing around in their muddy area.

It is one more example of Winnie’s distinctive personality, which Brown described as intelligent and highly responsive to human speech.

Brown Says Winnie Is More Than Just a Family Pet

The latest comments give a glimpse into how Brown’s relationship with Winnie has evolved.

When Brown first brought her home in 2020, Winnie became a companion during an important period of the actress’s life. Years later, the dog is now adapting to another major change: Brown becoming a mother.

For Brown, that transition seems to have worked out well.

While the actress and Bongiovi continue to keep their daughter’s life private, her comments about Winnie offer a small look at the family’s everyday life.

The story also highlights how pets can remain important companions as families change and grow. In Winnie’s case, that role now includes being a gentle presence around Brown’s young daughter.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Family Has Entered a New Chapter

Brown and Bongiovi announced their adoption of a baby girl in August 2025, marking their first step into parenthood. The couple married in 2024 after becoming engaged in 2023.

The couple has largely protected their daughter’s privacy since making the announcement.

Instead of sharing extensive details about their child, Brown has occasionally spoken about the experience of becoming a mother and the changes it has brought to her life.

Her latest comments about Winnie provide another small window into that transition.

For now, it appears the family’s long-time poodle has successfully gone from being Brown’s close companion to becoming a patient presence around the newest member of the household.

And judging from Brown’s description, Winnie seems to be handling the promotion rather well.
