Jen Shah completes her federal sentence after spending 33 months in prison and several months under home confinement.

The former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star officially finished her sentence on Friday, August 28, 2026. Shah, 52, had been serving a federal sentence connected to her role in a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme.

Shah spoke about the milestone in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. She said the end of her sentence closes a chapter that had a lasting impact on both her life and her family.

Shah’s federal sentence began after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022.

She was sentenced in January 2023 to six and a half years in federal prison. Prosecutors said the telemarketing scheme targeted hundreds of victims, including vulnerable and elderly people.

As part of her sentence, Shah was ordered to forfeit $6.5 million and pay restitution connected to the fraud case.

However, Shah did not spend the entire 78-month sentence behind prison walls.

Shah served about 33 months at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.

She was released from the facility in December 2025 and moved into community confinement. Her remaining sentence was then completed under home confinement.

The Bureau of Prisons had listed August 30, 2026, as her original release date. Because that date fell on a Sunday, Shah’s sentence was completed on August 28.

Her transition out of prison therefore happened in two stages: first, her release from the federal prison camp, and later, the completion of her remaining sentence at home.

Shah’s legal troubles became public in March 2021.

At the time, she was filming the second season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Federal authorities arrested her in connection with a telemarketing fraud investigation.

Shah has also said she is grateful for the support she received from her family while serving her sentence.
